Compress image to 10 KB

Drop a photo and get a file at or under 10 KB, at the best quality that fits. Add exact pixels if the form asks for them.

or drop images here to get them under 10 KBJPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and more. Nothing is uploaded. You can also paste a screenshot.

How it works

  1. The limit is set to 10 KB; change it if your form says otherwise, or add a minimum.
  2. Open the options to add an exact pixel size when the rule gives one.
  3. Drop the images. The ruler under each shows where the result landed against the limit.
  4. Download one, or all as a ZIP.

Who needs 10 KB

Ten kilobytes is the budget for a scanned signature or a thumb impression, not for a photograph. Indian bank and exam portals (IBPS, SBI, SSC) ask for signatures between 10 and 20 KB, and a phone scan of a signature is usually 500 KB or more, so the file has to shrink by around fifty times.

  • Signature uploads on bank and exam forms
  • Thumb impressions and initials
  • Tiny avatars and favicons

What to expect at 10 KB

A signature on white paper fits easily: most of the image is one colour, which JPG stores in very few bytes. If your scan is a large photo of a desk, crop it to the signature first with the crop tool, then come back. Expect the pixel size to drop to around 300 pixels wide.

Other limits

20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB

Questions

My signature came out blurry at 10 KB. What helps?

Crop tightly around the signature so no desk or shadow is in the frame, and sign in dark ink on plain white paper. Fewer colours and less texture give the compressor far more room.

The portal says the file must be at least 10 KB. Can the tool keep it above a minimum?

Yes. Set a minimum in the advanced options: the search keeps the highest quality under the maximum, and a JPG that still lands under the floor is padded with comment bytes that viewers ignore. The result row shows both.

Should I use PNG or JPG for a signature?

Most portals require JPG. If the portal accepts PNG and your signature is clean black on white, PNG can be sharper at the same size, but JPG is the safer default.
