Compress image to 50 KB

Drop a photo and get a file at or under 50 KB, at the best quality that fits. Add exact pixels if the form asks for them.

or drop images here to get them under 50 KBJPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and more. Nothing is uploaded. You can also paste a screenshot.

How it works

  1. The limit is set to 50 KB; change it if your form says otherwise, or add a minimum.
  2. Open the options to add an exact pixel size when the rule gives one.
  3. Drop the images. The ruler under each shows where the result landed against the limit.
  4. Download one, or all as a ZIP.

Who needs 50 KB

Fifty kilobytes is the most common photo ceiling across application portals, from Indian exam boards to university admission systems and HR software. It is roomy enough for a sharp head-and-shoulders photo at 400 to 600 pixels, so you rarely lose visible quality.

  • Photograph uploads on most application forms
  • Profile photos for HR and student portals
  • Email signatures and small web images

What to expect at 50 KB

Most phone photos reach 50 KB with a quality setting in the 60 to 80 range once they are resized to a sensible width. If you keep the original 4000-pixel width the tool has to go much lower on quality, so let it downscale, or set the pixel size you actually need.

Other limits

10 KB, 20 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB

Questions

Can I compress many photos to 50 KB at once?

Yes. Drop a whole batch; each file is searched separately so every one lands under the limit, and you can download them together as a ZIP.

What if the portal also limits the dimensions?

Enter the width and height in the advanced options. The tool resizes first and then finds the quality that fits, so both rules are met in one pass.

Will a PNG screenshot reach 50 KB?

Often yes: the tool first reduces a PNG to a palette of 256, 128 or 64 colours, which keeps the pixel size and transparency, and shrinks pixels only if that is not enough. Photos still compress far better as JPG or WebP, so pick those when the form accepts them.
