Why convert WEBP to PNG

Questions

Does the transparent background survive?

Yes. PNG keeps the alpha channel exactly, so logos and cut-outs stay clean.

Why is my PNG 3 MB when the WebP was 200 KB?

WebP compresses photos aggressively; PNG stores each pixel. For photos, JPG is the smaller universal choice.

Is anything lost in the conversion?

No. PNG keeps exactly the pixels the browser decoded from the WebP.
